Engineering student wins Silliman Idol

RnB Prince from Civil Engineering (Prince Bruce Azores) stood as champion of the Silliman Idol 2018 final night at the Hibalag booth area, Aug. 27.

Azores is a fifth year Civil Engineering student of the College of Engineering and Design.

“Joining this competition in my last year in Silliman was the best decision I made in my whole college life,” Azores said.

Rakistang Sugbuanon from Mass Communication (Jane Myka Inso), Acoustic Heartthrob from Nursing (Zephaniah Buenavista), Guitaristang Doktor from School of Medicine (Reigine Eva Maglajos) and Soul Singer from Business Administration (Cris Guiller Aguilar) were first, second, third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

The top five  finalists from the 54 contestants who auditioned this year, sang with renditions of songs from the 1960s to the 2000s.

Finalists sang “songs they wish they wrote” and “Do You Believe In Me” by Eric Gadd, which they sang in different genres.
