SUSG HERT conducts vax-related survey, hopes for a 100% vaccination rate

by Joellie Badon | December 3, 2021

The Silliman University Student Government (SUSG) Health Emergency Response Team (HERT) has conducted a bi-monthly vaccination survey which was opened last November 26.

“We hope that in the next surveys, we shall be able to finally collect 100% or at least close to [100%] by reaching out to every student so that we will be able to have accurate data,” expressed SUSG HERT in a written statement via email regarding the organization’s reinforcement on the vaccination survey.

The survey was strengthened by SUSG HERT’s SUVAXX: Road to 100% Vaccinated Sillimanians campaign, wherein they have collected 70% of responses from the whole tertiary student population as of December 2, 2021.

In regards to SUSG HERT’s campaign on the road to 100% vaccinated Sillimanians, SUSG HERT said: “Until we can retrieve the data of at least 99% of the student population, then we can accurately say whether the percentage is good enough for a road to 100% fully vaxxed Sillimanians. We hope that in the next surveys, we shall be able to finally collect 100% or at least close to reaching out to every student so that we will be able to have accurate data.”

According to SUSG HERT, regardless of the student population’s vaccination rate, there are other factors to evaluate, in addition to vaccination status, before proceeding to limited face-to-face classes.

“We don’t know what the admin’s plans are at the moment. However, once it is accessible, we will do all within our power to promote the student body’s best interests,” stated the said organization.

The Health Emergency Response Team was formed as the principal task force of the SUSG which would respond to public health emergencies, like the COVID-19 pandemic.

SUSG HERT urges everyone to keep updated on forthcoming surveys by visiting their Silliman Online University Learning (SOUL) deadlines section.
