SG bike hire returns

By Nova Veraley V. Grafe

After a brief break last semester, the Student Government is once again renting out bicycles.
Through its Environment Committee, the Silliman University SG continues its anti-pollution advocacy through the Sikad Project. Shianne Lawas, SUS G member, said they hope to instill environmental awareness among students through the project.
“The usage of bikes as means of transportation will teach students to opt for a more environment-friendly vehicle. At the same time, it will give them a healthy lifestyle.” he said.
SU students, faculty and staff can rent bikes at P20 per hour.
According to Lawas, the amount collected from the rental fees will be used for bike maintenance as well as for the future plans of the Sikad Project.
He added that the SG hopes to add more bicycles soon so more students can avail of their services.
