After four years of waiting and steady rebuilding, the College of Business Administration (CBA) has reclaimed the overall champions crown for Intramurals 2026. The win marks a significant moment for the college, which had long worked toward regaining the top spot in the university’s annual sports competition.
For CBA Dean Dr. Wilma Milo Tejero-Libarios, the victory carries deep meaning for the entire college community.
“Being named the Overall Champion after years of hard work and perseverance is truly a proud and meaningful moment for the College of Business Administration,” she shared. “This victory reflects teamwork, discipline, and commitment to excellence, not only in sports but also in leadership and unity.”
The championship ended a four-year drought for CBA. In previous Intramurals, the college remained competitive but fell short being back to the top. This year, however, consistent preparation and collective effort finally paid off.
Dr. Tejero-Libarios emphasized that the achievement belongs not just to the athletes who competed on the courts and fields but to everyone who worked behind the scenes—coaches who trained them, organizers who prepared the events, and supporters who encouraged them every step of the way. She pointed to the leadership of the CBA Student Government, the dedication of the players and coaches, and the guidance of faculty and staff advisers.
She also acknowledged the work done behind the scenes by the cheerleaders, logistics and transportation teams, as well as the CBA medics who ensured that every event ran smoothly and safely.
More than a collection of medals and trophies, the title represents the unity of the college. Students, administrators, and support teams shared a common goal throughout the week of competition. That shared purpose helped strengthen relationships within the college and renewed their sense of pride.
“I am just very thankful, and to Him [God] we give back all the glory and honor,” the dean added.
Beyond the goals and three-pointers, the college’s journey to bring back the title was not easy.
The college’s sports committee expresses a shift that attributes success this year to structured leadership and a renewed passion for the game.
Under CBA Governor Nevina Cardente’s hands-on approach, the college’s operations became more organized and intentional. With constant communication and careful scheduling, every athlete felt heard, supported, and valued within the community.
“Even when we faced a shortage of players in certain events, our ‘Home of Champions’ spirit pushed us to find creative solutions together. We were more driven than ever to reclaim the title after four years, and that collective hunger made all the difference,” they exclaimed.
The preparation process of the college was a genuine partnership grounded in constant communication and mutual support. Behind the scenes, the CBA Sports Committee worked tirelessly to manage schedules and logistics, coordinating closely with college councils and governors to ensure that every athlete remained informed and valued.
“By showing the athletes they were deeply appreciated, whether it’s a win or a loss, we created a positive environment where everyone was motivated to give their absolute best. This synergy between the players and the committee is what truly made this championship possible,” Keisha Villaflores, a member of the Sports Committee, remarked.
There were moments where they also faced challenges, such as registration concerns and the inevitable frustrations that come with competitive sports, which demanded patience and kindness. But even in their lowest points, the strength of the CBA community allowed them to get back on their feet.
“The strength of our CBA family shone through as our dedicated teachers stayed by their side, and the Red Cross provided vital assistance. We overcame every hurdle by sticking together and looking out for one another,” Villaflores expressed.
The committee also always made it a priority to sustain morale throughout the season. By consistently reminding athletes that their efforts always mean something, whether in victory or defeat, they cultivated a positive environment that motivated everyone to give their best.
“We want to ensure that every future athlete feels the same level of support and excitement that led us to victory this season. By staying organized and keeping the ‘family spirit’ alive, we are confident that CBA will continue to be a powerhouse in the years to come,” Villaflores declared.
As the confetti settles and the echoes of cheers fade, CBA emerges with their crown truly returned to the hive. This victory stands as more than a trophy but a symbol of the college’s resilience, unity, and unwavering dedication.
After four years of striving and rebuilding, the hive stands proud once again as the recrowned Golden Bees. The title of “Home of the Champions” has been reclaimed and its legacy secured for the seasons to come.
