A student-led community fostering social acceptance among students with different backgrounds
Silliman University (SU)—known for valuing diversity and free expression—brings together students across regions, each sharing unique perspectives and inspiring narratives.
Even so, the lack of representation of some student sectors continues to be a problem within the university.
One of the key platforms of former Silliman University Student Government (SUSG) president Enrica Dinopol and vice president Timothy Leo Libres was the Diverse Advocates for Student Inclusion and Growth (DASIG) program. It is a consultative body that lobbies the concerns of underrepresented groups, including LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, working students, student-athletes, women, and other minority groups.
Launched on Jan. 11, 2024, the DASIG program serves as a stepping stone towards a more inclusive campus, amplifying the voices in SU that are often left unheard.
