Blending technology with performance, the College of Engineering and Design (CED) Raptors captured the championship at the 2026 CheerPop Competition last Feb. 21 at the Silliman University Gymnasium with an AI-themed routine featuring robotic props and metallic costumes.

Themed “Ano ang Pinaglalaban Mo?,” the Raptors stunned the crowd with a modern dance portraying resistance to the growing dominance of artificial intelligence, which also earned them the best in concept and best in costume awards.

CED Team Captain Eunice Rebamuntan said she is grateful for the support given to their team throughout the competition.

“To our coach na nag-guide namo and to our members who committed and dedicated their time for this kay finally nadaog nami,” she said.

Following the Raptors as first runner-up was defending champion College of Business Administration (CBA) Golden Bees, which also won best team captain.

Meanwhile, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Blazing Phoenix and the Institute of Clinical Laboratory Sciences Medtech (ICLS) Hornets placed second and third runners-up, respectively.

Other participating colleges also showcased various performances highlighting different advocacies they are fighting for.

Some of the winning colleges echoed the realities of students, stereotypes and identity of Sillimanians, and Filipino culture amid rapid globalization.

The competition is in its second year, annually organized by the SUSG Cheering Committee.

CBA crowned in closing program

The SU Intramurals 2026 concluded at the Cimafranca Ballfield with CBA Golden Bees reclaiming the overall championship title, ending long-time rival CED Raptors’ four-year streak.

The CED Raptors followed behind as the overall first runner-up, while the CAS Blazing Phoenix trailed as second-runner up.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Rehabilitative Sciences Agilas and ICLS Hornets earned a tied third-runner up spot.

The Best in CLAYGO awards were also given to the College of Mass Communication Red Dragons, ICLS Hornets, and CAS Blazing Phoenix, for practicing proper disposal of wastes during the week-long event.

The Intramurals is annually organized by the SU Physical Education and Athletics Department in partnership with the SUSG Sports and Recreation Committee.
