BFO moves cash fund services to Guy Hall

By Kate Giordan Flores

Following a move to renovate the first floor of Leopoldo T. Ruiz Administration Hall, the Business Office Disbursement and Accounting Office temporarily caters to cash fund services at the century-old Guy Hall starting Jan. 13.

The office currently accommodates checks and pre-audits at GH 1B, while cash-advance bookings, restricted funds, and faculty accounts can be processed through GH 1A.

Despite the relocation, Chief of Facilities Management and Administrative Services (FMAS) Engr. Debonaire Mamhot assured that the office operations will not be affected.

“It’s only the area that will be transferred. Still, the business will go on as is. There’s no change really in the procedure and the methodology that they’re doing right now,” he said.

Mamhot shared that they had to reinforce the structure of GH last December 2025 and early January this year to permit the temporary transfer of the office.

Requirements for the relocation, including the electrical systems, tables and chairs, furniture, and other items of the office, were also prepared ahead.

Moreover, a delay in the transfer operations occurred due to prior adjustments made with respect to the occupants of GH first floor such as the junior and senior high students.

“We had [the transfer] approved by the president. Everything was coordinated and well delivered. So we cannot really do something about it if there were still classes,” he said.

With the offices of the Portal Yearbook and the Weekly Sillimanian fronting the temporary office, Mamhot clarified that the office location “[will] not disrupt operations” but has requested the transfer of yearbooks being piled outside the office.

However, he stated, “They can still have their own office there, but we’re more concerned with the safety [of yearbooks] blocking the whole corridor. It should be removed […] We have given them an area already.”

On the partial renovation of Leopoldo Ruiz Hall, Mamhot said that the timeline and completion of the project cannot be determined while construction has yet to begin.

“This project will be from design to full implementation. So they are still designing on what to do with all this […] including safety, aesthetics, and everything,” he said.

The four-storey administration hall houses different administrative offices and was named after the university’s fourth president Dr. Leopoldo Ruiz.
