OSS Month returns to F2F

by Ranjie Nocete | May 10, 2023

Silliman University (SU) Office of Student and Services (OSS) organized the first face-to-face Student Services Month since the COVID-19 pandemic last April 3 to 28.

Dr. Edna Calingacion, Dean of Students, said this year, they aimed to involve all OSS offices in the month-long celebration.

Dormitory Sportsfest, an inter-dorm sports competition, was a new addition. Calingacion said that it used to be a separate celebration from Student Services Month.

Moreover, she said the Grace Award is highlight of the celebration wherein the OSS recognizes the services of those who have worked in the office.

The 2023 Grace Awardees are: Dr. Evangeline P. Aguilan, Milagros V. Matura, Maximina B. Atega, Atty. M. Mikhail Lee I. Maxino, Editha J. Casquejo, Cindy Ruth R. Villariza, and Josefina Limuaco.

They were awarded on April 26 at the Audio-Visual Theater.

Calingacion added she hoped to link with other institutions since “in past celebrations, we invited other schools.”

Other events of the month included: Vernon Hall Ball; McIntire Oratorical Speaking Contest; culminating activity with free massage, haircut, manicure, and pedicure for OSS staff; and the International Food Fair.
